What is Girls Growing Through Travel?
Girls Growing Through Travel (G2T2) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls through educational travel experiences. Every trip is designed to for learning! Our program designed to build confidence, leadership skills, and global awareness in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Who can join?

Girls ages 12 and up are welcome to join as participants. We also offer opportunities for adult members to get involved as mentors, helping guide and support participants during educational travel experiences.

Do participants need prior travel experience?
No experience is needed. Many of our members are new to travel, and we provide guidance, preparation, and support every step of the way.

What makes your trips educational?

Each itinerary is thoughtfully designed to include historical exploration, cultural experiences, and leadership development. Participants engage in hands-on learning that connects travel to real-world knowledge and personal growth.

Are there workshops before trips?
Yes. We host workshops leading up to each trip to help participants prepare, learn about their destination, and build confidence and leadership skills.

How much does it cost to participate?
Trips are sponsored through Grants, Contributions and Fundraising Events. 

Are fundraising opportunities available?
Yes. Fundraising is a key part of our program and helps offset travel costs, making these opportunities accessible to more families.

Is fundraising required?
Yes. Participation in fundraising helps ensure fairness and allows all members the opportunity to benefit from shared efforts.

Who supervises the trips?

Trips are led by experienced adult mentors and chaperones who are dedicated to ensuring a safe, supportive, and positive environment.

What safety measures are in place?
We prioritize safety through structured supervision, clear communication, preparation workshops, and established emergency procedures.

Can adults get involved?
Absolutely. Adult members play an important role as mentors, providing guidance, encouragement, and support throughout educational travel experiences.

Are background checks required?
Yes. All adult mentors must complete a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of our participants.

How are destinations chosen?
Each year, we present several travel options, and members have the opportunity to provide input and help select destinations.

Do parents need to attend trips?
No. Participants may travel with the group under the supervision of trained mentors, based on age guidelines. Parents are always welcome to be involved in other ways.

How do I join?
You can join by completing our membership process and participating in workshops and fundraising activities.
